A dioctahedral member of the true mica group. The ideal end-member formula is CsAl₂ vAlSi₃O₁₀(OH)₂ (where v = vacancy) and forms as a 2M₂ polytype. Nanpingite is the Cs analogue of muscovite and occurs at one locality, the Nanping pegmatite field, Fujian, China.
